Running in 2025

Happy New Year and welcome back to my blog. Some of you may have noticed I have been absent for the past few weeks. I took some much needed time off, just to recharge my batteries, enjoy the Christmas festivities and plan for 2025. I managed to relax and enjoy my holidays with no work, no study and not much else really. Every once in awhile it is important to take a step back, re-evaluate what you have been doing to date and make new plans.

I have done something similar with my running. I only managed to hit one of my two goals I set for 2024 unfortunately. Run a half marathon distance and a sub 50 minute 10k. I ran the distance, but never managed the sub 50 10k. My running club were messaging me where I disappeared to, and head cold after head cold just mounted up in November and December due to work stress. I came to the conclusion I just needed a rest. No work, no study, no running goals and no blogging.

Of course I kept running where I could. My distances and pace fell off a cliff but, I am ready and geared up for 2025. I reached out to a couple of old friends, I reset up my runna application with my 10k goal and I am writing my first blog of the year 🙂

Sometimes taking a step back, or moving more slowly is the best way to move forward quickly, and with more confidence. Running is no different.

What is your goal for 2025? to run aimlessly or to achieve something you have never done before?
